Some Drawings

Here are some recent drawings I've been doing.
Mostly from my sketchbook.

The last two were from classroom demonstrations drawings of students. The third to last is a illustration I'm working on of Toshiro Mifune.

Hive Gallery - Cuts, Bruises, & Broken Bones Show Pt. I

These are the main pieces I've been working on since the 24 hour art show. I figured since that one sold I could make a few more similar pieces and sell them. These were all chronologically posted. and you can see some of the growth and changes i made.

All were done on varying sizes or cradled boards, and are Mixed media pieces.

As far as I know all pieces are still for sale at the Hive. If you don't live near, contact me via Email or the comment section and we can work out price, shipping and the over all sale of the piece.

Hive Gallery - Cuts, Bruises, & Broken Bones Show Pt. II

Here are four pieces I completed the day before the hanging of the show. It was originally just going to be the first, green one, but obviously, in my world, one becomes two, and two becomes four. Sigh....

If you are interested in purchasing one of these, drop me a line via Email or give me your contact info via the comment section. Each come with their own frame.

3-4-11 Hive Gallery

Here is the culmination of a few months work of art.
All to be shown at the hive gallery, 3-4-11.
I still need to sort out prices and titles and attach wires....
Hopefully everything goes okay.
At the top is the flyer.

Hopefully people will stop by and come check out the artwork and buy some.

Strummer

Here is a mixed media piece I recently finished.
I used the same method as before with a couple little tweaks.

And I must say I love it. I love The Clash, and Joe Strummer, the first three clash albums are really, really, really good. The S/T title is pure punk perfection. As snubbed as "Give 'Em Enough Rope" is, it really is a great album with some good songs on it. Some really catchy tunes. And of course, "London Calling", albeit slowed down and more rock like, is, from it's Elvis rip off cover down to the last note of "Train in Vain", is pure perfection. In my eyes.

Aside from the hits on "Combat Rock", I haven't been able to really get into that album.

On a side.
My wife thinks that the way I drew Joe looks like David Archuleta... I don't see it myself. Crazy woman!

George?

Just did this for a demo for my painting students.
Who knows how their paintings will turn out.... but this did good for me.

p.s. I gave him tentacles for hands/arms cause it seemed cooler than just having him have regular hands.

Some Design work

A couple months ago I responded to a friend's request for some graphic design help. His band Theta Naught were going to release a new album and needed someone to design it. I responded and after months of slaving over the mac while not at work produced this little gem.

I'm pretty proud of the work I did. Though I wish I had made the UPC symbol bigger. All in all, I think I did pretty good considering this if my first real piece of graphic design I've done, not for myself or school.

You can pick up the album here. It's cool stuff. gnarly, experimental, improv, free form jazz, instrumental music ala mogwai.... kinda?

24hour Show-The Hive

Sorry about the poor quality of photo... this was the piece I did for the Hive Gallery here in SLC, at Trolley Square. The show was to pick up a cradled board on a thursday and turn it in 24 hours later. So this is what I was able to do in that time. I wish I could learn how to get clearer photos.

Striking Distance Poster

For the Striking Distance Reunion I was able to make some posters up for the band and sell at the show. I kept a few to sell myself and help recoup the cost of printing and shipping and to make some available to others that weren't able to make it to the show.

If you would like to purchase a poster they are 12.5" x 19", hand screen printed by the awesome KW screen printer (look them up on line).

The posters will be $15 post paid. Email me (highxfives@hotmail.com) and we will talk about paypal payment.

If you are a fan of my work or the band's please buy one.

First come, first serve. There are only about 25 left.

Here are some pictures of the poster that was pasted to the back of the fedex box I got them in.

Word Up!
